what-to-do-in-adelaide-for-the-weekend

So off to Adelaide for the weekend? Here are five things that I would recommend. We recently stayed with friends for the Australia Day long weekend and managed to squeeze all of this in!

5. A long lunch at Sean’s Kitchen

Sean’s Kitchen was the perfect place to celebrate our beautiful friend’s belated 30th birthday. From the New York esq interiors to the farm fresh food, I would recommend a visit to this Adelaide gem. We started with the ‘International Flight’ plate to share from the Museum of hams, these cured meats were amazing. For main we tried the steak and burgers and it’s one of the best burgers I have ever had! Make sure you book in advance so you don’t miss out.

4. Rundle Mall and the city

There is just something about outdoor malls! Spend an afternoon wandering the shops and taking in the sights of the city. Make sure you also check out the Adelaide Art Gallery. Check out the stalls we don’t have in Sydney such as Fashion Bunker.

3. Adelaide Hills

Adelaide Hills are so beautiful and boasts some of Australia’s best wineries.

We spent a full day driving around the hills, make sure you add the below to your next visit:

Nepenthe – set on a beautiful hill, this place is all about the atmosphere. Taste test the wines and then relax of the couches and chairs out in the sun.

Bird in Hand

Sidewood Estate – Comes complete with golf! This is a must for the guys.

2. Hahndorf

While you are in Adelaide Hills check out this lovely German town. Make sure you don’t leave without getting your schnitzel fix.

1. Relax and unwind by walking the Esplanade

Adelaide is very flat compared to Sydney and is so close to the coast. Unwind with a long walk along the Esplanade. On the way take in the cute cafes at Glenelg.

I hope these quick 5 suggestions cause you to have a great weekend away!
